0 Today's Technology

Growing up in a tech-friendly family, my parents always used technology in our everyday lives. Ever since the fourth grade I have had a cell phone. My dad also made sure I was up to date on the newest software for computers and utilizing this in my own life. Technology has helped me stay in touch with friends and family far away by using facetime, Skype, text messaging, and social media such as Facebook.

I hope to gain in this class, EME2040 different ways to explore the new technology around us. I also would like to learn how to use all of the technology we have today to put in my classroom of children in the future. Young children these days have the latest and greatest forms of technology, which some are even over my head. I want to learn how to take their electronic interests and incorporate a learning style to meet their needs.

By taking this test, I realized I am an active learner. Being an active learner means I work well with others and should study in a group to collaborate all information. I have a sensing type learning style, I like connecting everything to the real world instead of being left to ponder theories. I enjoy neatness, color coding, and diagrams, which puts me in the visual learning section. I am also a sequential learner. I like everything to be in numerical order and laid out from the beginning.

  1. Being in early childhood, you will giggle when you see young children approach a computer in your classroom. Their first response is likely to be, "touch the screen to make it move." Many have never touched a mouse before. You are right that they love technology. In fact, young kids often literally cheer. Enjoy their enthusiasm.
